Carbon Reduction Plan

AUGUST 2025

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

AGD Systems Ltd is committed to reducing GHG emissions by 85% by 2030.

We are committed to achieving short-term science-based targets, aligned with the goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C, aiming to reduce our carbon footprint by an average of 85% by 2030.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions: – 85% absolute reduction by 2030 from a FY19 baseline.

In addition to our short term targets, we have also committed to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2050 at the latest.

Supporting the UK’s most important transport infrastructure means that reducing our carbon emissions is a business imperative. These ambitious targets demonstrate our commitment to delivering our services in the most sustainable way possible and to provide maximum value for money to our customers.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years for Scope 1 and Scope 2 to 10 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 85% from our 2019 baseline.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives:

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2019 baseline:

The main change has been to streamline our production assembly facilities from two separate buildings into one extended unit on our own site. The old building was old built circa 1950, had limited insulation and was heated by a gas boiler. The new building is heated and cooled using aircon equipment and with the addition of 50 solar panels has made this a carbon positive manufacturing unit. The three buildings on our site have now also been linked to enable us to move generated solar electricity around the site to help improve the carbon efficiency of all buildings.

The lighting in all buildings was upgraded to LED lighting from fluorescent tubes.

The business purchased an EV as a pool car and has encouraged all new company vehicle purchases be electric.

The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to approx. 145 tCO2e since building completion in 2022, a 62% reduction against the 2019 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

Future carbon reduction initiatives:

A number of new initiatives are planned which will allow us to continue to reduce our tCO2e:

We plan to switch to green certified electricity and gas when the current contracts end.

Continue encouraging all new company vehicle purchases to be electric and expand EV charging facilities on site.

Scope 3 analysis and target setting and specifically looking to have an environmental dialogue with our key suppliers.

Improve product training aids for customers to reduce the need for customer visits.

Declaration and sign off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting standard ISO14064 and uses the appropriate government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements (where required) and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
