Carbon Reduction Plan

DECember 2025

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

AGD Systems Ltd is committed to achieving short-term science-based targets, aligned with the goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C.

In order to align AGD Systems with this, we have set a target of a 77.5 CO2 ton reduction by 2030, which equates to a 4% reduction per year’ *

In addition to our shorter-term targets, AGD Systems is committed to achieve the UK Government’s objective of Net Zero Carbon by 2050.

Supporting the UK’s most important transport infrastructure means that reducing our carbon emissions is a business imperative. These ambitious targets demonstrate our commitment to delivering our services in the most sustainable way possible and to provide maximum value for money to our customers.

Current and Baseline Reporting

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Reporting Period: 1st May 2024 – 30th April 2025
EMISSIONSTOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 112.339
Scope 217.593
Scope 3 (Included Sources)356.578
Total Emissions386.510

*This value is calculated from the 24/25 baseline, and any changes to the organisation may impact this value and will be adjusted accordingly.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon target of a 77.5 CO2 tonne

Carbon Reduction Projects

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented:

The main change has been to streamline our production assembly facilities from two separate buildings into one extended unit on our own site. The old building was built circa 1950, had limited insulation and was heated by a gas boiler. The new building is heated and cooled using aircon equipment and, with the addition of 50 solar panels, has made this a carbon-positive manufacturing unit. The three buildings on our site have now also been linked to enable us to move generated solar electricity around the site to help improve the carbon efficiency of all buildings.

The lighting in all buildings was upgraded to LED lighting from fluorescent tubes.

The business purchased an EV as a pool car and has encouraged all new company vehicle purchases be electric.

Future carbon reduction initiatives:

A number of new initiatives are planned, which will allow us to continue to reduce our tCO2e:

We plan to switch to green-certified electricity and gas when the current contracts end.

Continue encouraging all new company vehicle purchases to be electric and expand EV charging facilities on-site.

Scope 3 analysis and target setting, and specifically looking to have an environmental dialogue with our key suppliers.

Improve product training aids for customers to reduce the need for customer visits.
