AGD Systems shows next-generation ITS solutions to its international audience at 2018’s Intertraffic, Amsterdam, 20-23 March

AGD Systems, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of ITS product solutions, is exhibiting at 2018’s Intertraffic Amsterdam – 20-23 March 2018.

At the show, AGD will showcase its Traffic & Pedestrian Control solutions, which include the new large-zone IP-capable, real-time video 645 Pedestrian Detector and the 318 Traffic Control Radar. These ITS products all deliver ease of deployment, integration and setup to allow maximum flexibility for evolving traffic models.

Said Ian Hind, AGD’s Commercial Director: “These next-generation solutions move ITS to the next level. User communication with AGD traffic and pedestrian control devices is wireless, making deployment easy and setup simple. All three products employ WiFi AGD Touch-setup for quick configuration and zone or loop optimisation.

“The large zone 645 Pedestrian Detector delivers real-time video and its IP capability allows control rooms to receive the information they need to ensure optimal performance. The future is IP-driven because it allows control rooms to interrogate devices and make real-time changes on the street.

“We’re already getting brilliant feedback about our 645 Pedestrian Detector, which launched earlier 2017.

“We’re looking forward to showing these cutting-edge traffic control solutions at Intertraffic Amsterdam.”

AGD can be found on stand 10.102 at Intertraffic, RAI Amsterdam, Europaplein 24, 1078 GZ Amsterdam, 20-23 March 2018.

AGD Systems to exhibit at Intertraffic 2018, 20-23 March, RAI Amsterdam

AGD Systems, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of ITS product solutions, is exhibiting at this year’s Intertraffic Amsterdam – 20-23 March 2018.

At Intertraffic AGD will showcase its WiFi-enabled, IP-capable 645 Pedestrian Detector – now with larger 10m x 3m detection zone, and the non-intrusive, loop-replacing 318 Traffic Control Radar. These highly successful products – both proven in the UK – deliver unprecedented ease of deployment, integration and setup to allow maximum flexibility for evolving traffic models.

Said Ian Hind, AGD’s commercial director: “AGD has a comprehensive range of ITS product solutions that are well suited to applications in international markets. All our solutions are designed and developed for specific applications by Traffic Group Technology, the in-house engineering centre for The Traffic Group companies. Looking ahead, we are developing an exciting new radar detection product for highways that opens fresh markets for AGD and will bring our solutions to new customers and channels.

“This highways monitoring radar will collect detailed traffic data on the network and will replace loop technology to monitor multiple lanes on inter-urban routes. We are looking forward to showcasing our solutions and exploring future possibilities with ITS professionals at this year’s Intertraffic Amsterdam.”

AGD 350 Traffic Control Radar withdrawn pending further development

AGD 350 Traffic Control Radar withdrawn pending further development

AGD Systems has announced that plans to launch its new 350 Traffic Control Radar – a sophisticated multi-lane loop replacement radar with stationary detection – early in 2018 have been revised and the product has been withdrawn until further notice.

All AGD’s ITS product solutions undergo highly comprehensive internal verification and on-street validation testing before they are released into service. Initial testing of the 350 TCR required complex data-set verification and optimisation. The original intention was to release dual zone units with stationary detection at the stop line in Q1 2018, with secondary release of multi-zone units, capable of monitoring at least four zones with the use of expansion cards, scheduled for Q2 2018.

The extensive verification and validation testing of the product has identified inconsistent levels of performance for the initial stop line application. The fundamental technology deployed in the radar is not able to deliver a level of performance that meets AGD’s high standards and the expectations of the market.

AGD is currently in the early feasibility stage of looking at alternative technology to deliver the critical performance levels that customers require in their junction control applications. AGD has taken the decision to withdraw the product from the market until such time as it has arrived at a solution that will deliver the reliability and performance for which its solutions are renowned.

AGD Systems wins British Brazilian export award

AGD Systems, a leading UK manufacturer of ITS product solutions, including traffic radar, was listed as one of the top 20 export partners to Brazil in the prestigious Foreign & Commonwealth Office Department for International Trade British Brazilian Awards. AGD was announced as a winner alongside companies such as Jaguar Land Rover.

The award was presented to AGD’s business development manager Oliver Bain at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London on 18 May. Presenting the awards were Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Brazil, Mr Vijay Rangarajan, and the Brazilian Ambassador to the UK, Mr Eduardo Dos Santos.

AGD’s business plan is ambitious and has in recent years developed a strong export focus; AGD already has an Australian subsidiary and well-established global channel. The company’s product solutions fit well in countries that embrace advanced Intelligent Traffic Systems thinking. Brazil is such a country and is quickly bypassing technologies to arrive at systems that benefit from and require the kind of radar detection data that AGD’s products provide. This award recognizes the team’s hard work and their achievements to date.

“Members of the judging panel were very impressed with our results in developing a partnership with a local company and securing sales to 13 Brazilian firms with potential for more customers and many repeat sales,” explained Oliver Bain.

The British Brazilian Awards were part of a series of events under the banner ‘Think Brazil’, taking place in London, Oxford and Manchester, with the aim of fine-tuning the shared agendas of the Brazilian and British governments and drawing attention to business opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

Eduardo dos Santos stressed the importance of Think Brazil as a means of promoting partnerships: “Our affinities go beyond football,” he said. “We have mutual interests in diverse areas such as education, and science and innovation, which can generate co-operation beyond the traditional trade relations. In that sense, promoting Brazil in the United Kingdom represents the openness and continuity of a successful dialogue.”
